AI Portraits - corporate cosplay

I haven’t worn a suit for years, but wanted to smarten up my linkedin profile as I’m working with big clients. I’ve been planning a new photoshoot for ages, but it never makes it to the top of my to-do list in Notion.

I do a lot of work with AI Image generation and it’s generally accepted that the quality isn’t quite ready for prime time, feeling a bit uncanny valley and not premium enough do drive emotional connection.

After several seconds of research setup an account Insta Headshots and uploaded some fairly bad holiday pictures from the last 18 months. I was offered up some options for clothing and backgrounds (suits, polo necks, Dr’s clothing, on a boat, in front of a boat etc), I’ve shared some of the results below and a few observations.

- Insta headshots looks very squarely aimed at US Corporate / Real Estate style profiles, as such it might not capture a non - US style of clothing
- You get 50 ish outputs and hopefully you can find 5 ish decent ones
- I’m especially pleased with my suit shot where it looks like they’ve transposed my head onto a ripped Jeff Besos body

- I am also really scared of boats / ships, so managed to get a few shots of me in front of them - You get lots of odd outputs, these go straight to trash
